Hilfe für Afrikaner aus der Ukraine

Help for Africans from Ukraine

Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine began on February 24, more than 4 million Ukrainians and people of other nationalities living in the country have sought refuge in European countries.

While the situation of Ukrainians and third-country nationals residing permanently in the country is clear thanks to the EU directive on temporary protection, the fate of students and other short-term residents is still uncertain.

The practical issues of where to stay, how to access medical care, and what options they have to continue their studies are some of the concerns of students among affected Africans.

GAIDI therefore regularly provides useful information for Africans and other war refugees in Ukraine currently living in Germany.

Here is a compilation of important information, from residency rights to finding housing, that non-Ukrainian nationals displaced by the war in Ukraine should know.
