As part of our work to discourage irregular migration in Africa, we encourage young people to seek legal ways of migration to Europe and other destinations of their interest. One of these is to study and receive training.

GAIDI is are here to assist you every step of the way towards studying or receiving training in Germany.

We provide you with information about the most suitable course options, the institutions offering these courses, the application, language and financial requirements, and how best to get admission, among others. Moreover, we offer pre and post-arrival assistance in Germany.

Here’s why studying in Germany is an opportunity worth exploring for young Africans:

  • Living costs in Germany are relatively modest when compared to other Western European countries. On average, students can get by on 800-900 euros per month – for rent, food, transport, health insurance, telephone/internet, study materials and leisure activities.
  • Foreign students are allowed to work part-time for a maximum of 20 hours per week and full-time during holidays.
  • Opportunities to work in Germany after you graduate. Graduates are granted an 18-month post-study residence permit (stay-back visa), allowing them to find work in Germany.
  • Germany is reputed as one of the world’s most supportive countries for international students
  • For those who would like to receive vocational training in Germany, there are no fees. In fact, you receive a living allowance during the period of your training.
